Parndon Mill Gallery
Our home mooring, with an art gallery, art and craft workshops and classes, and studios occupied by many very talented artists and crafts people.
The matriach, Sally Anderson, and side kick Roger Lee, run the gallery, studios, and surrounding farm, having transformed a site of run down, derelict buildings, and overgrown land 35 years ago, to its present glory. Dont be surprised to find ducks and geese in the car park, and donkeys and sheep on the other side of the fence, and huge saddleback pigs, and litters of cute pink and black piglets just across the bridge.
The weir footbridge on the towpath opposite is worth a look; sculptured achitectural ironwork from the on-site blacksmith’s workshop has been decorated with thick coloured glass panels cast in a variety of shapes and objects, from the studio of Karen Murphy, an award winning glass artist.
See the Parndon Mill website for Gallery opening times, workshop and class bookings, and open studios information.
